What's Honor System?

The Honor system goes live with Phase 2 of Classic and with it comes the PvP rank rewards. The honor system changes the way the world PvP works by adding honor kills, no honor kills and contributing points. Each week, they are assigned a title and ranking based on their current contribution points. The ranking lasts for a week and then updates next week, depending on the player's PvP activity.

Honorable Kills

In Phase 1, Players participating in the World PvP are only doing this for the fun of PvPing. The Honor System introduces Honor Kill, which is part of the calculation that determines your PvP rating. Honor kill means killing enemy players of the same level or below. The kill will have a value given by the honor, which is assigned to each player a "valuable" quantity. This is calculated by looking at the player's past experience in PvP, how many honor killers they have and their rank.

Dishonorable Kills

As implied by the name, a Dishonorable Kill occurs when a player kills a "civilian" NPC; these are enemy NPCs with civilian tags that can usually be found in the leveling area around the game. If you kill a civilian NPC, you will lose points in the honor system, and if you continue to do so, you will be subject to greater penalties, such as a complete loss of grade.

Contribution Points and Honor

Contribution Points are a term used to refer to the points that are used to calculate the rank a player will receive for that week. In-game, this is the amount of Honor you have.

Rank Points

Ranking points determine your ranking in the weekly rankings and are calculated by using the current ranking, the number of contribution points received, any decay changes, and your past activity.

How do you obtain Honor/Contribution Points?

Kill enemy players within level 10 of the character to gain Honor. There are some "rules" that affect your profitability: the higher the player's level, the higher the points you can earn by killing them. Killing experienced and honored PvP players earns more points than killing players who have never won an honor kill. The higher the player's character level, the more points they deserve. All honor kills obtained in a group or team raid will receive a score, and each player earns a score equal to their contribution to the kill. Repeatedly killing the same player will result in a diminishing return on points earned. It will be reset after 24 hours.

How do Weekly Standings affect your Rank?

Weekly rankings can have a significant impact on your rankings, as each ranking can only have a certain amount, depending on the NRP. If you reach the level of points required for a certain level, you may still get lower level points because there are still a large number of players trying to reach a higher number of RPs. In short, you need to make sure you keep up with the development curve of the field, not just the personal honor grinding curve. If you don't increase the number of honours you receive each week at a reasonable rate, you will not only lose higher rankings because of higher attenuation, but also because other players will receive honors at a higher rate.

Hey! I've been playing WoW for over 10 years, and to be honest, I'm amazed at how the developers of this game manage to maintain interest in their brainchild.
Recently, a friend of mine decided to start playing WoW as well, but he did not want an endless grind and I advised him to turn to Armada
These guys boosted his character pretty quickly and he didn't have to grind a lot.
